APPAU as part of a consortium EDIH “Kyiv Hitech”

The consortium, led by the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance, has received the official status of European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) and the Seal of Excellence from the European Commission!

The consortium is based on 2 Kyiv-based DIHs — Centre 4.0 KPI DIH and the Virtual Centre for Digital Innovation (NOSC-UA DIH) at the Kyiv Academic University (KAU). Both were registered in 2021 and have already served about a hundred SMEs thanks to their cooperation with APPAU and the UCA clusters. The consortium includes Ukrainian branches of Siemens and Festo, Ukrainian developers IT-Enterprise, 482.Solutions, Waste Ukraine Analytics, ecosystem partners APPAU, Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Holding, the Institute for Digital Transformation and the Innovation Development Centre, and the Kyiv RMA.

According to the European Commission’s regulations, there are three types of EDIHs:

1) those funded by the European Commission,
2) those to be funded by national or regional institutions and
3) other funds.

According to the competition results, the Kyiv Hitech consortium did not receive funding from the European Commission but received the Seal of Excellence, which is considered an EDIH certificate for possible support by national structures and other donors and participation in subsequent European Commission calls for EDIHs.

The Seal of Excellence brings us to EDIH status, which is very good news for all consortium members. We are convinced that the accumulated potential and experience will help us move forward confidently and find other funding sources.

We invite Ukrainian and foreign partners, DIHs, and EDIHs to cooperate.
