Ukrainian IT company IT-ENTERPRISE together with the Ukrainian Dual Technology Cluster (UADUT) conducted A practical online webinar ‘won a big contract: how to quickly scale production and not disrupt delivery.’ The event took place within signed Memorandum of Partnership aimed at technological strengthening of the domestic defense-industrial complex (MIC). Ukrainian Miltech and Dual-use companies have received practical tools for automation of production, which & nbsp; allow you to scale production by 30% at existing facilities and guarantee the implementation of defense contracts.

During the webinar, experts dismantled the key barriers faced by defense sector manufacturers during the transition from small-scale production to system scaling. Among the most common problems are informal planning, dependence on the human factor, manual data entry and lack of operational transparency in the shops. According to experts, these factors create risks of shortage of parts, disruption of delivery times and financial losses. 

An effective solution for overcoming these challenges is the introduction of modern management methodologies and ERP-systems that automate the process from receiving the order to the shipment of finished products.

Scaling production through staffing alone or purchasing new equipment often requires too much time and money. During the practical part of the event Head of the direction DEFTECH projects Taras Kakhniy demonstrated the functionality of the ERP-enterprise system, in particular the tools for prospective assessment of the capacity to perform the contract before signing it, operational detailed planning (APS) and electronic control of technological documentation (BOM). 

The speakers paid special attention to the readiness of Ukrainian developers and manufacturers to cooperate with large customers and international investors.

A large contract requires absolute supply discipline. In addition, international partners and investors expect from Ukrainian companies full transparency, cost control and reliable traceability of each product. The introduction of professional automation tools allows defense companies to transform the engineering potential into sustainable industrial capacity and confidently enter global markets. Denis Sviatokum, the head of the Ukrainian double-technological cluster, emphasized. 

Based on real Miltech companies’ cases, participants Presented Achieved economic indicators after automation: reduction of equipment downtime on 10%, achievements 98% Accuracy of fulfillment of confirmed delivery dates and reduction of time for bringing new products to the market twice. 

Experts of IT-ENTERPRISE and the Ukrainian cluster of double technologies emphasized that it is necessary to transform management processes now, because the transparency and controllability of production are the main factors in the successful implementation of the defense order. A joint series of training and consulting activities for the manufacturers of defense industry will continue in response to the requests of Ukrainian Miltech and Dual-Use companies.
